Vibration Control at bauma China 2008
We exhibiting at bauma China 2008 in Shanghai from November 25 to 28. As a specialist for vibration control technology, ContiTech Vibration Control is on hand at bauma China providing information on rubber-to-metal-bonded components and hydromounts in the MEGI® and SCHWINGMETALL® product range. The components are used as engine and cab mounts on construction machines and construction vehicles, where they dampen shocks and structure-borne noise, isolate machine vibrations, reduce accelerations, provide protection from noise and reduce the stress to both materials and operators. For over 50 years the MEGI® and SCHWINGMETALL® products have stood for top quality in rubber-to-metal-bonded components. Comprising more than 1,000 standard products, the line-up is continuously being optimized and expanded.

We Outfit Belarusian Fire Brigade
ContiTech Vibration Control supplies cone mounts to outfit the fire engines made by the Belarusian vehicle manufacturer Pozhsnab. The Megi® line cone mounts serve to safely and comfortably suspend the fire water extinguishing tank in the vehicle. “Our cone mounts give the tanks the requisite transversal stiffness so that the vehicle does not start swaying wildly back and forth when cornering. At the same time the tank suspension provides sufficient vertical flexibility to deal with vibrations caused by road or ground irregularities,” explains Frank Dahmen, head of sales in the Industrial segment at ContiTech Vibration Control.
The special aspect of the equipment agreement is how it came about. For the first time, close cooperation between Hanover-based ContiTech Vibration Control and Kharkov-based ContiTech Ukraine resulted in conclusion of an agreement for the provision of original equipment to an Eastern European manufacturer of special-purpose vehicles. “Of particular note is that the project was overseen and technical consultation provided by the trade partner in Ukraine,” underscores Dahmen.

Follow-up: PTC Asia in Shanghai
From October 27 - 30 at PTC ASIA in Shanghai, ContiTech showed off the latest solutions in the area of vibration control technology.
ContiTech Vibration Control showcased mounts for forklift engines, cabs and chassis. The focus was on plastic and rubber-to-metal bonded elements from the MEGI ® and SCHWINGMETALL ® product range. Visitors saw SCHWINGMETALL ® flange mounts and conical mounts, MEGI ® bushes, as well as the Contilan ® tire – a wheel made of plastic for pallet trucks and stacking vehicles.
MEGI ® and SCHWINGMETALL ® mounts and elements are used in industrial vehicles as well as in machine, apparatus and plant engineering, where they dampen shocks and structure-borne noise, isolate machine vibrations, reduce accelerations and control noise, thus significantly lowering the stress placed on both materials and operators. MEGI ® and SCHWINGMETALL ® have been bywords for top quality products for more than 50 years now. The range comprises more than 1,000 standard products and is continuously being optimized and expanded.
