December 2008At the end of November, ContiTech Vibration Control presented itself to the Chinese construction machinery industry as a specialist in innovative vibration technology at the bauma China trade fair. The appearance at the fair was also used to sound out the market. "The trade fair was an excellent opportunity for us to find out more about the Chinese construction machinery industry.

We were able to gain a good overview of the market potential, competitors and the level of technology," summarizes branch manager Jens Hoffmann. During the four days of the fair, the vibration technology expert was on hand with information about the MEGI® and SCHWINGMETALL® product range from ContiTech Vibration Control. The exhibits on display included the V 1500 plus and K 2000 hydraulic mounts, as well as a MEGI® socket and a PU spring element.

During the fair, there were plenty of high-level technical discussions, primarily with European manufacturers who have their own production locations in China. Despite the global economic downturn, Hoffmann's market analysis is cautiously optimistic: "The Chinese construction machinery market is complex. However, it has potential, which will be particularly demonstrated as and when Chinese manufacturers intensify their export efforts."
